Handicapped Parking Guidelines

To be eligible to purchase a Kent State University Handicapped Parking Permit you must have a State of Ohio Handicapped Permit. Bring a copy of your owners registration and your driver's license to Parking Services, Room 123 Michael Schwartz Center. Parking Services will then be notified of your eligibility for this permit. You will be eligible for handicapped parking until your state permit expires, or until you do not attend classes for a semester (excluding summer sessions), whichever comes first.

If your state permit expires while you are still attending classes at Kent State University, just bring your new owners registration indicating a renewal of State Handicapped parking to prevent your name from being removed from the parking eligibility list. If you do not attend classes for a semester and plan to return, stop by the Parking Services office with your registration the semester you begin classes again.

Lot Parking Guidelines

PLEASE NOTE: Lot Parking is also a special parking option approved through Parking Services office. Lot parking is offered to persons who do not want to display their State of Ohio Handicapped Parking Placard, but have a medical reason to warrant closer parking. With lot parking you will receive a parking permit good for the two available lots of your choice, but will not be able to park in a handicap spot on campus.

You will not be able to renew your Lot Parking each semester online. You will need to email Parking Services for your renewal.
